Their goal is to educate wine lovers and promote Grenache through workshops and wine tastings, and to sustain it in the vineyards and in the glass.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>GA in Action:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>#GrenacheDay \u2013 an International Day of Grenache held annually on the third Friday of September;<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>GrenacheNights held during Vinisud, VinExpo, ProWein, Alimentaria, London Wine Fair;<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>The Grenache Symposium a week-long workshop, with tastings and panels with hundreds of professionals from 22 countries;<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Commented tastings by sommeliers, the Grenache masterclasses;<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Worldwide network of wine professionals;<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>G-Think workshops: work, exchange and share technical information between winemakers;<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Partnerships with key wine associations.<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>How it all Began!<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>The idea for International #GrenacheDay was launched in 2010 following the first International Grenache Symposium at Ch\u00eane&nbsp; Bleu\u2019s vineyard at La Verriere in France.&nbsp; The symposium was founded by wine&nbsp;gurus Steven Spurrier and&nbsp;Michel Bettane, Walter McKinlay of Domaine de Mourchon, and Nicole Rolet of Ch\u00eane&nbsp; Bleu.&nbsp;<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Grenache is prevalent in the South of France,&nbsp;in regions such as the Southern Rhone (including Ch\u00e2teauneuf-du-Pape), Provence, Languedoc&nbsp;and Roussillon, as well as many of the best regions in Spain such as Priorat, Campos de Borja, Calatayud, and Sardegna in Italy.&nbsp; It is also very popular in Australia and the US, and grown in more than a dozen other countries around the world including China.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>This eco-superstar has drought-resistant deep-rooted vines and is particularly well-suited to withstand climate change.&nbsp;More wine enthusiasts are discovering Grenache\u2019s unique ability to transmit its \u201cterroir\u201d and exploring this rich variety.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>The current GA board&nbsp;includes: Christopher Cannan of Europvin, China&rsquo;s Eddie Cheung, Dean Hewitson of Hewitson Wines, Jorge Lucki in Brazil, Walter McKinlay of Domaine de Mourchon, Hong Kong&rsquo;s Debra Meiburg, Chester Osborn of d\u2019Arenberg Wines, Dave Powell, Nicole Rolet of Ch\u00eane&nbsp; Bleu.<\/strong><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Press contact For any information, please do not hesitate to contact:Jane Silverman, Grenache Symposium PR Director, pr.grenacheassociation@gmail.com\u00a0orMarlene Angelloz, Executive Director, marlene.fandegrenache@gmail.comWe will be pleased to answer.
